The mother of an 18-day-old baby who died after falling from a height in London has been charged with murder, police have said. Zahira Byjaouane, 43, of Horseferry Road in Westminster was charged on Sunday and remanded in custody. Metropolitan Police officers were called to the same road at 07:30 GMT on Saturday following reports an infant had fallen from height at a residential property. Det Ch Insp Alison Foxwell said on Saturday: "At this stage, we believe the incident occurred within a domestic context, but we are appealing for anybody with information to come forward. " She added: "The death of an infant is always an extremely tragic occurrence, and officers are making urgent enquiries around the circumstances. " A guarded police cordon was set up on Great Peter Street, just off Horseferry Road, following the incident, and forensics officers also attended the scene.
